Your First Christmas Card

NOTE: I dedicate this email chain poem to my 16-year old son who I argued with last night about Christianity, religion and the true intent of Christmas. I do hope Americans and Christians worldwide ensure the PC Police lose this battle for humanity sake!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

YOUR FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD
Twas the month before Christmas

When all through our land,

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

Why the PC Police had taken away

The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !

Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet MERRY CHRISTMAS!

**Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!**

It's Not All About the Politics

When someone in the family you feel close to, someone you have had all types of experiences with for better and for worse, passes away suddenly, you realize it's not all about the politics. It never is.

My sister's husband (my brother-in-law) died suddenly on November 19: a massive heart attack without warning at age 52. Leaving three children (ages 10 to 18) and his 47-year old wife, the realization of life before and life after Tom has hit everyone he touched like a ton of bricks.

While I won't deny my brother-in-law and I did not agree on most political issues, we did agree on a few. At the end of the day, that is what really matters: agreement, finding a middle ground...achieving a Yin-Yang balance.

The days ahead won't be easy for my sister, her children or my family. The entire family dynamic has changed forever, that's just reality. I know inherently, given the strength of the human body and spirit, that each day will get a little better and easier for my sister, and everyone impacted by the loss for that matter. This is how humans have always endured the worst life tragedies.

What I also know is that while politics are important on many levels and they do impact people at the national, state and local levels, it's never a smart bet to make it all about the politics because life is messy and it does get in the way.

So with this cliche in mind, I challenge everyone who reads this post to make it about family, friends, and giving during the holidays, no matter the party line ;-)

Shaking Off the Conservative Hangover

It's been over a week since the country re-elected President Obama and many conservatives, including me, are still shaking off the shock and hangover. It's taken me almost a full 10 days to get the feeling back in my fingers and to actually want to post my thoughts about what happened last week.

Honestly, I am still not sure I am quite there yet but thought today that banging out a blog post might just make me feel better. I could just work.

It's not that I am still NOT angry. I am angry. I am still pretty pissed off at all sorts of folks including the RNC, GOP establishment, Team Romney, and whoever crosses my path with snide and small comments about Obama winning. How could the RNC let this happen? Hello, Romney was supposed to WIN. Maybe the multi-faceted, foreign national, MSM-backed candidate Barack Obama was just too much for the GOP who had the additional uphill climb of the long and drawn out primary battle?

Who knows, we may never know. In the meantime, conservative pundits like Dana Perino, Bobby Jindal and Scott Walker, all of whom I generally admire, have quickly jumped on the bash-Romney bandwagon weakening chances of unification among American conservatives and GOP who just want to see their country back on the right track toward prosperity for future generations.

Look, gang of The Five, Romney was right (and it's okay that he's a little bitter and talking, he has that right to given what is currently going down nationally and internationally), Obama did offer hand outs to the 47% and has been for years to anyone who is desperate enough to take the handouts. Have we already forgotten the Obama Phone? The proliferation of food stamps? Today's very high unemployment rates? Gross misuse of stimulus spending including "green businesses" of friends of Obama all or most of which went bankrupt?

We'd better start calling it like it is or we will never fix our problems or find a candidate that gets more than half of the country excited for real change — much like Mitt Romney did — for that matter.

For my own children's sake, I hope we, as a unified country, figure it out and figure it out sooner than later. I simply can't stand the idea of my children growing up living in a morally destitute and constitutionally bankrupt society.

I suppose we all knew on some level Obama was going to use any means possible to win the election. Let's not forget that liberal progressive mantra: the means justify the ends. Guess what, they don't. At least not for this elephant (still under glass).

We can only hope that General Petraeus is truthfully testifying as I type this post and moving the Benghazi story closer to the truth on behalf of all Americans and forcing accountability out of today's ever scurrilous administration.

Hmm, I actually do feel better having written this post. Time to go eat a Hostess Twinkie before they are gone with the Union wind too :-(

Veteran's Day: A Day of Honor

It is important today that we as a country lay aside our political differences and remember those who have fought in wars, served in our military unconditionally and remember those who are still serving to ensure all Americans are able to pursue their own happiness.

GOD BLESS AMERICA: the land of the free, home of the brave.

Father of Slain Benghazi SEAL Blames Obama Adminstration: "They Murdered My Son"

Just watch. Heartbreaking interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly. The U.S. Senate hearing should not be delayed until after the election. President Obama should be held culpable by voters if he truly and knowingly denied support to these heroic Americans. The families of those murdered and all Americans deserve the truth.

NH's Union Leader Op Ed Sums It Up Nicely

Why Mitt? Reality over fantasy

    ShareThis
The undecided New Hampshire voter has just two weeks to answer this question: Why switch from Barack Obama to Mitt Romney? By now the question is easy to answer if one has been listening to the candidates.

Barack Obama was in Manchester on Thursday. When he came to Veterans Park in 2008, he sold “hope and change.” He was uplifting, inspiring. Last week, that was gone. In its place was the negativity, the deception, the nastiness that Obama once said he wanted to remove from politics.

Obama offered New Hampshire nothing but bitterness and envy. He attacked Romney with a litany of mischaracterizations and deliberate falsehoods.

It was far from the uplifting message Obama delivered four years ago. But four years ago Obama did not have an indefensible record.

He could say that investing billions in high-speed rail and solar energy and electric cars and college loans and road repair was the path to prosperity, and many found it plausible. Now, when he offers the exact same proposals, as he did on Thursday, we can look back at the last four years and note that he has done all of those things and they did not work.

What Obama offers America is a fantasy. Sputtering economies are not sparked back to life by government-directed spending on industries hand-chosen by politicians. They are revived by unleashing the energy and creativity of the American people.

The key difference between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama is that Romney understands that crucial economic truth; Barack Obama does not.

That is why Romney offers not “tax cuts for the rich,” but true and long overdue tax reform that cuts everyone’s tax rate and closes loopholes that actually make our tax code less fair. It is why Romney offers regulatory reform that would reduce burdens on businesses so they can hire more people. It is why Romney would bring federal spending back to 20 percent of GDP as opposed to the nearly 23 percent Obama prefers — but does not pay for.

While Obama offers rhetoric and pipe dreams, Romney offers a real plan to bring the economy back to life. It is not the George W. Bush plan. Bush spent more than he took in. Obama, who doubled Bush’s level of deficit spending, accuses Romney of wanting to return to Bush-type deficit spending. It is not true, but if it were, that would be an improvement over the last four years.

Obama had four years — half of them with a Democratic majority in Congress — to try his way. Romney offers a better way, a realistic way, to restore American prosperity. We tried the fantasy. It did not work. Now it is time to stop dreaming and start growing again.

OHIO COAL MINERS CONFRONT OBAMA: 'WHY WOULD YOU LIE?'

This ad is well worth the watch - short and sweet it calls Obama on what appears to be a perpetual wave of deceit.

At the end of the day, I am not sure there is any amount of mainstream media protection that is going to sustain the Obama administration's deceit. At least I'd like to think so.

Joe Biden Maniacally Laughing at Americans

Seriously, folks, this is what has been in the WH for the past four years. Must be tough being sequestered for most of them and then they all of a sudden let you out of your office to share.

It appears from last night's debate that Joe and his boss believe Iran, the murders in Benghazi and America's struggling economy are laughing matters.

I wonder if the rest of America think so?

Benghazi was not spontaneous, not even close

As national security lies continue streaming from the White House, the ad below further demonstrates exactly why this country #CantAfford4More years of an Obama administration.

If you #BelieveinAmerica and better days lay ahead, then make sure to vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan on November 6.

Make sure to watch the VP debate tonight and watch Paul Ryan go "head-to-head" with our esteemed VP Joe "Rope-a-Dope" Biden.

MUST WATCH: The Hope & The Change

In a continuing effort to expose President Barack Obama for the negative impact his policies have had on this country and its economy, The Hope & The Change is a must watch film. The documentary sums up the sentiment of many of today's Independent and Democrat voters who feel cheated and have decided to look beyond party lines and vote for real and positive change on Nov. 6.

I encourage anyone with the time and inclination to watch this documentary before making a final decision.

And, after watching if you decide you want to help drive the economy UPWARD make sure to visit the EUG Store and buy an EUG mug before the next debate!

Heck, like SNL Obama daydreamed during the debate skit: "Everyone LOVES coffee, right?!"

Mitt Romney Delivered A "Leg Tingler" Last Night

I couldn't resist the headline after listening to MSNBC's Chris Matthews freak out last night.

Matthews: "We go after the facts at this network!" Are you kidding me Chris?! Wait, does anyone really watch MSNBC anymore? Most Americans don't trust mainstream media and the "Alphabet" networks because of bias talking heads like Matthews and others. One day it would be great if U.S. media outlets would wake up, smell the coffee and start reporting ALL the facts. Until then, there's Fox News and Univision.

Romney won last night because he is the better man, he's the real man, he's the leader who has been preparing for the role of POTUS his entire life.

As they say in sports (and politics): sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

And last night was no exception. Mitt Romney was clearly the winner on every level. He was prepared, calm, presidential, and above all else specific and factual (yes, Chris, even on the topics of Social Security and Medicare and Food Stamps) as opposed to the stammering POTUS, who appeared to be looking down at this shoes like a scolded child most of the night.

I don't know about you, but I don't want a someone leading this country who just fundamentally does understand the American spirit and/or like it for that matter. The leading from behind isn't working. Romney was right last night, innovation and American prosperity thrive when Americans are free from governmental chains, over regulation and BIG GOVERNMENT dictating what you can and can't do.

It's more clear now than ever that there is a HUGE choice come November 6. Either you plan to vote for the same losing proposition that has left this country in economic shambles and divided, or you plan to vote for someone who truly believes we can do better as a nation, unified and that prosperity, leadership and freedom are inherently America's responsibilities to the rest of the world.

The hug from Mitt's granddaughter at the end, pretty much sealed the debate evening for this hopeful elephant.

I can say this morning, I am fully energized and looking forward next week to the VP debate between Joe Biden versus Paul Ryan. Take your happy pills Chris, you are going to need it!

Social Security: Biggest Gov't Ponzi Scheme Ever

SOCIAL SECURITY NOW CALLED A "FEDERAL BENEFIT PAYMENT"!

SAY WHAT?!

Yep, it's true, the government refers to our Social Security checks as a “Federal Benefit Payment”. Can you believe the audacity?!

Social Security totals 15% of our income before taxes. If you averaged $30,000 per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security.

If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in Social Security ($375/month, including both your and your employer’s contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3 plus million dollars saved! This is your personal investment.

Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month. That’s almost three times more than today’s average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration (Just Google it, it’s true). And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)!

Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They “forgot” that it was OUR retirement money they were taking.

And recently, we've been told that Social Security won’t support us for very much longer. But is it our fault they misused our investments? Maybe, maybe not. Or maybe we needed to say something years and years ago. They say complacency can be dangerous!

Americans have earned the right to their Social Security and Medicare since their inception. All Americans must demand that their legislators bring some entitlement common sense to the government. Make sure to vote #RomneyRyan2012 on November 6 and support a solvent Social Security and Medicare for future generations and ALL Americans.

And let's remember to call it what it truly is: EARNED RETIREMENT INCOME because YES, WE BUILT IT!

So many questions, so little time

If you've got constructive answers, feel free to comment.

Why would a terrorist group need the cover of a video to commit an act of terror? Is not an act of terror by definition that which cannot easily be thwarted in advance? That's what makes it terrifying.

Why is Obama et. al. so quick to blame the 14 minute video clip without question, yet hesitant to state what most people knew from the moment they first heard about it?

Like I have heard on the Five (good show by the way), who first proposed the notion of a Youtube video being the source for any and all rancor across the greater middle east. Why is this person not on television?

Why are we not angry here in the US at the mutilation of American citizens on American property and the raising of AQ Black flags in at least four American consulates? Also are these not acts of war?

When will we acknowledge the fact that Iran and its allies are on a course to wage all out war on Israel first, then on all the West?

Why do we allow the likes of Iran's leader to appear here on American soil at the UN. Do we not have any say as to who can come and go within our sovereign territory?

Can the UN be moved to some other country? I'm offended by the presence of that institution on American soil as long as it treats ruthless dictators on the same level as heads of state in good standing.

Why are Christians not as angry and offended about a crucifix suspended in a vat of urine on display in a public museum as the Muslims appear to be with regard to their religious symbols?

Why are we giving away cell phones to minorities in inner cities? I never heard of this until I heard from the rather enthused Obama supporter out of Cleveland.

Why is it not ok to state the fact that 47% or so of the populace of this country are in one way or another dependent on the federal government for their livelihood?

Will Romney come alive in the debates, like Reagan did against Carter? I hope so. He needs a "Well, there you go again." moment.

When federal officials opine in front of a mic, like Hillary Clinton, how come they only seem to regurgitate facts that we already know. Telling us over again what we already know takes up the allotted airtime and makes these people seem knowledgeable, but you may notice that they never really say anything.

Calling All Agents of Change!

It will be necessary for all "agents of change" to learn more about Romney / Ryan 2012 plan to save the American Dream and vote on November 6.

This incredible Shining City on the Hill, which has been a haven to so many families from around the world, simply can't afford four more years of economic and national security disaster, not to mention a leader chooses to "lead from behind" and compromise our military and national security.

Let's put bipartisan bickering aside and elect a presidential leader who has the ability to fix this country from the outside in and inside out.

Americans who voted for Barack Obama in 208 share why they're changing their vote in 2012 and will be casting their ballot for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in November.

You can buy this very cool We Built America poster at the Romney / Ryan online store. Even better, you can relax and shop, and avoid all risk of American flag sacrilege!

The one thought that truly seemed appropriate in regards to the latest Obama swag was: WTF! Crass, maybe, but nonetheless honest and from the heart.

How can anyone take the current administration seriously given its blatant failure across almost all areas of governance including most recent the Arab Spring, YouTube video and U.S. State Dept. blunders, and more specifically take seriously a president who feels it is A-okay to post this kind of vulgar campaign swag to his online store.
Today's guest blogger JH has his own insights to share today regarding the above obamination:
I don't see a problem here, all 9 colonies are well represented. :) That's why our overlords aren't upset when the old flag, (the one with 13 stripes) gets trampled, since we don't use those old things anymore.
The new Post America is so wonderful! Why just today, we are getting a new space shuttle exhibit at the history museum up in Lost Angeles. The shuttle will forever sit down the hall from the dinosaurs, right next to the spot they are saving for the internal combustion engine and incandescent light bulb.
Hooray!
We celebrate failure, demonize success, make instant celebrities out of people you wouldn't want as a neighbor and surrender without so much as a fight our God given rights of free speech to a bunch of cranks whose own countries are barely out of the middle ages. This world is completely and utterly upside down.
I remember, not too long ago, when some hippie dude tried to light an American flag on fire during a game in the middle of the outfield at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Rick Monday, an outfielder for the Cubs, ran over and swiped away the flag before the guy could light it on fire. It wasn't that long ago. At the time, Rick Monday was deemed a hero and he is still in possession of that flag to this day. Nowadays, who knows? Obama would probably say Rick Monday "acted stupidly".

Man in Park Today Made Me So Mad! Then I Told Myself: "Get Over It!"

I am not sure why I get so angry.

But, today as I was taking my morning walk, I overheard these two men talking about the election and I just erupted...luckily it was in my head.

The older man says to the younger man, "Who are you going to vote for?" The younger man (in his late 40s) says to the older man, "Obama, yeah, Obama." The older mans says something about "knowing" Michelle...yada yada yada.

And that's when I thought I was going to explode or rather implode.

Really, Obama?! My first thoughts: thank God it is Utah and the electoral votes will go to Romney Ryan and so glad Romney is still ahead in the polls after the DNC Meets Hollywood show. But then, I just kept thinking...and thinking...and thinking...how could anyone right now of sound mind vote for a President who has failed his country so badly, used divisive and ugly tactics throughout his presidency and four years of continual campaigning, and ask a country to give him four more years (so much for Obama's "one-term proposition" homily) no matter the party affiliation.

I continue to mull over as I walk: unemployment remains at an all-time high, more people than ever before on welfare and food stamps, soaring healthcare rates despite the behemoth legislation called Obamacare (which a majority of Americans did NOT want to see passed), private sector creating almost no jobs in August with a dismal forecast for small business growth...hmm.

Then, on my way back up the hill staring out at the beautiful Wasatch Front, I revisit the young man's reply again in my head: "Obama, yeah, Obama," and I just can't stop muttering to myself: "Are you freaking kidding me?!" "What planet are you from?" "Wake up and smell the coffee!"

Then it occurs to me, many in Utah don't drink coffee and my internal combustion chamber begins to subside.

I take a deep breath, continue to enjoy my walk knowing deep down I will get past my ire for fact-less, kowtowing R-Obama-ots one "blog, Tweet and Facebook post for #RomneyRyan2012" at a time.

This Sandra Fluke cartoon made me BELLY LAUGH today!

And given we are well into Day 2 of DNC, this cartoon was well worth stumbling upon says this elephant with a sigh.

It's certainly a sad day when American youth feel taxpayers should be subsidizing their sexual lifestyle. When does the crippling "entitlement" attitude stop and individual accountability start?

Please tell me on November 6, 2012 with a brand administration: Vote RomneyRyan2012 because Obama Isn't Working.

20 Reasons Why Paul Ryan Was a Good VP Pick

I really liked this "20 Reasons Why Paul Ryan Was a Good VP Pick" List from Godfather Politics (www.godfatherpolitics.com) and felt is was well worth passing along...check it out!

It's so right on!
  1. Paul Ryan is not Joe Biden.
  2. Romney Ryan sounds like Ronald Reagan
  3. Liberals hate him.
  4. Democrat political operative and CNN contributor (naturally) James Carville was critical of Paul Ryan because he didn’t wear a tie during the VP announcement. You know the Democrats are worried if a news segment was devoted to what Ryan was wearing.
  5. He’s making liberals go insane. Russell Simmons, who is worth $340 million and owned a 49,000-square-foot home, tweeted: “Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, two men who will destroy our people.”
  6. Romney/Ryan raised $3.5 million dollars in one day after the announcement. Money is an indicator of voter enthusiasm.
  7. More than 10,000 people attended a campaign rally In North Carolina. This wasn’t a union “rent-a-mob.”
  8. More than 10,000 people turned out to welcome Paul Ryan back to Wisconsin. Neither Romney nor Ryan wore a tie.
  9. A fundraiser in Chicago for Obama resulted in a half-full room.
  10. Obama and Co. immediately went on the attack. I think they’re surprised that Romney made such a bold move with a conservative.
  11. He knows how to debate.
  12. He’s not a wimp.
  13. He’ll stand up to the liberal media. Not a hard thing to do if a person decides to do it.
  14. He drove the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile and worked at McDonalds. This shows that he can relate to people who work for a living and that he had more private sector work experience than President Obama.
  15. He’s pro-life. He co-sponsored the Sanctity of Human Life Act and Right to Life Act.[1]
  16. A National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) “press release being circulated by Democrats and women’s groups” accuses the Catholic, pro-life Ryan with “extreme” anti-abortion views.
  17. He’s against homosexual marriage. “He has voted in favor of the Marriage protection act, twice in favor of an amendment to the Constitution to define marriage, and against the repeal of the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.”
  18. Libertarians should like Ryan for this statement: “I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are, and what my beliefs are. It’s inspired me so much that it’s required reading in my office for all my interns and my staff.”
  19. Hopefully Ryan will help pull Romney more to the right.
  20. The Tea Party is enthusiastic. “This absolutely brings excitement to the ticket,” said Debbie Dooley, co-founder of the Atlanta Tea Party, who said she her reaction was “Wow!” when she heard the news. “This gives us something to vote for rather than voting against (incumbent Democratic U.S. President Barack) Obama.”

Brides Bash Obama's June Fundraising Effort

Okay, I am just off of the EVO'12 conference in Park City (which was FABULOUS!) and overflowing with ideas on how to take my political lifestyle blog to the next level:
or fundamentally transform my blog to address interesting and relevant lifestyle issues while also offering giveaways which only include things I really, really like. The caveat being this transformation can't in any way, shape or form compromise the excitement and energy blogging on political topics brings me. Yes, it's a tall order!
With this all said, I think I landed on my first politically charged lifestyle story without even trying! Thank you David Axelrod! Having just spent quality time with mommy bloggers from all over the country (and world) including several very creative wedding and foodie bloggers, I thought recapping today's Daily Caller story in my own words and theirs was fitting.

'Hell No!" says American brides to Obama for America. That's right, those brides who we love to watch and even giggle about when they throw tantrums on "Say Yes to the Dress" are standing up and saying Hell NO!  Even these chicks know better — you don't mix politics with wedding bliss.

On one hand, you have to admire the audacity of Obama's campaign staffers managing the slightly odd and off-putting Event Registry effort. But, on the other hand, I am LOL-ing imagining Obama for America branded tin cans streaming behind the back of cars nationwide with "Just Married" signs adorning the windows and bride's grimacing on route to their honeymoon.

As The Daily Caller reported (which made my post-EVO conference day just a tad funnier):
President Obama’s bizarre marriage-theme fund-raising scheme — where he asks couples to request campaign donations from their guests in lieu of wedding gifts — has been a total flop.

The desperate initiative, dubbed “the Event Registry,” is being mocked by event planners and couples — and shows how desperate the Obama campaign is to keep up with GOP contender Mitt Romney’s fund-raising.

Campaign officials launched the initiative in late June, the same month Obama raised just $71 million compared to Romney’s $100 million.
Not sure how desperate Obama truly is as it appears he has millions or even close to a billion to spend on disputing Romney's time at Bain and which jobs were created where against his own very poor, jobless tenure as POTUS. But, what I can tell you is our President has an inherent and hard-to-dispute ego that doesn't appear to quit even when it comes to the sacred bride.
I suppose our commander and chief felt that "his special day in November" was just a tad more important than giving the blushing bride the spotlight.
Until the next post...HERE COMES THE BRIDE!

OBAMA RACKS UP A LONG LIST OF FIRSTS!

An impressive list of Presidential accomplishments:

First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.

First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.

First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends paid for by the taxpayer.

First President to preside over a cut to the credit-rating of the United States

First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.
